Jack is a fool


I still can’t get over that we killed Simon yesterday. If only it wasn’t cloudy and dark, then we would have known it was Simon we were beating to death. It was like my mind was miles away because Piggy was being serious saying I should call an assembly but I laughed. I don’t really know why. Then I say that Piggy wasn’t a part of it because he was outside of the horseshoe that the kids made. Then I say I was at the outside of the horseshoe also so I wasn’t apart of the murder of Simon. Piggy says he was batty for crawling into the horseshoe any way.
Then we see SamnEric and they said they left before the “dance” But they hesitated when they answered that they got lost last night in the forest. Then we made a fire with Piggy’s specs. Jack is a barmy fool along with his hunters. He stole the glasses and all he wants to do is hunt. That’s the only thing in his head, hunt. Is he even considering of getting of this island? Leaving this island and having an actual regular life? He knows we killed Simon, I mean that they killed Simon. But he lied with his theological explanation, even to his own hunters, his own tribe, to the people that actually follow him. He says that it was the beast and that it can disguise itself as other people. That’s so stupid, I can’t believe those other boys actually believe him. I still can’t believe Simon died. This all came to me in an illumination. I just wished I was purged from this island.
